I converted a WMV video to MPEG-2 but after conversion there's no sound, my video is 1hr40mins but when I convert a smaller video it plays sound.

This happens because of the codecs or the lack of codecs. I strongly recommend installing CCCP Codecs and then try again, because CCCP Codecs use FFDShow which is highly compatible with all the converters.
I do YouTube videos and VSDC Video Converter was working for a little while, but then all of a sudden whenever it's converting it won't play any audio at all and I need to upload them. If anyone has any tips on how to get it to keep the audio because I really need to convert some videos and upload them, I would be grateful.

Sometimes, the settings don't remain the same because of the conversion profiles. I recommend you choose the profile you want to export or convert the files, then go to its settings and adjust the codec. Most audio problems are related to the codec used while the conversion takes place. Change it to OGG Vorbis or MP3 and then convert your files. I have used this method for other converters as well and it worked normally without errors.

Secondly, while converting, use other video and audio format. For example, convert it to MP4 and use AAC as audio or MP3 codecs.
