VSDC Free Video Converter is a highly flexible conversion tool that not only converts your videos into most widely used video file formats, but also allows you to edit and enhance your video files and to extract their audio streams. Its attractive and intuitive interface includes a small video player for you to preview any of the selected files.

This tool wisely combines simplicity of use with a wide range of configurable settings. You can choose the desired output format either by clicking on any of the codec icons available, or by opening the list of media players and devices supported. The range of video codecs provided includes AVI, MPG, MOV, WMV, MKV, and various Flash-based formats, while the list of devices and players include consoles (such as Xbox, PSP, and PlayStation), various mobile phones, music players (such as Zune, Archos, and iRiver), the iPod family of products, and many more. Either way, any video format selected supports further customization. Each format comes with a long list of profiles covering all levels of quality, and each of these profiles can be fully configured to meet your specific requirements. Thus, this conversion tool is equally attractive for both novice and experienced users.

VSDC Free Video Converter comes also with a potent video editor. Here you can cut and merge your video files, split large video files into several parts, create snapshots of your favorite frames and extract any of the audio streams present in your source video (which can perfectly be a full DVD with various soundtracks). The output audio formats supported in the audio extraction include MP3, M4A, Ogg, AAC, WAV, AMR, and AC3.

The file conversion process itself is fast and reliable. It makes use of the current multi-thread environments to batch convert any number of videos, thus producing high-quality videos at high speeds.
